FAQ (Friends Ask Questions)
Here are a few answers to the questions that might be burning in the backs of some of your minds.
- Q: How should I dress for the wedding and dinner at Taverna Tony?
- A: Dress up and look dapper because there are going to be pictures, but no need to go over the top. Jackets? Sure. Collared shirts and pretty dresses? Yes! (But not both on the same person). Ties and formal gowns? Not necessary unless it's like, your look, man. Jeans? Maybe not. And for the record, we seriously want to see as many people as possible with their pants rolled up and bare-foot on the beach for the ceremony. While the weather should be good, it can get cool both by the beach and on the patio at the restaurant so make sure you have a jacket or shawl with you, just in case!
- Q: What should we wear to the Sunday Barbeque?
- A: Casual all the way. Shorts, flip flops, grass skirts. If your privates are covered, you're good to go.
- Q: How about maps, directions and drive-times, mmm?
- A: See the directions page for detailed instructions on reaching the event venues and estimated drive-times. TIP: If you find your car submerged or sinking in ocean water, you've taken a wrong turn somewhere.
- Q: I'm a vegetarian. Will I be forced to just sit there and watch other people eat while contemplating my life choices?
- A: If the only cruelty you condone is that perpetrated upon the likes of cucumbers and tomatoes, know that Taverna Tony is a Greek restaurant. We'll be having a family-style Mediterranean feast and 60% of the items served are vegetarian. The Sunday Barbeque will feature vegetarian-friendly options.
- Q: What's happening after the dinner at Taverna Tony?
- A: For those interested in continuing the celebration and hanging with rarely seen friends once we're finished at the restaurant, we'll be heading to the elegant surroundings of the Casa Del Mar hotel, on the beach in Santa Monica.
- Q: Can we bring kids to the Wedding, Dinner or Barbeque?
- A: The wedding and dinner on Saturday night are both adults-only, please. However, if you are unable to sell your children before then, the Sunday Barbeque is a family affair. Please note there are various water features on the property including a lagoon pool out of sight from the main terrace and they are NOT child-proofed. It's absolutely critical that you remain vigilant of younger childern. Please let us know if you are bringing your children to the barbeque so we can plan accordingly!
- Q: Are there any formal plans beyond the wedding, dinner and barbeque?
- A: Nothing formal, but we're getting a gang together to go out on Friday night and we'd love to see you, too! We realize some of you coming to L.A. might need time to rub shoulders with celebrities, audition for reality shows or pick out a Bentley to your liking. However, if that isn't on the agenda, hang with us! Again, it's not an official 'event' so there are no advanced RSVPs required. Just let us know if you plan on joining the group by Friday noon so we know who to expect before we head out! Final destination is still to be determined. However, if you're wondering what to wear, count on casual.
- Q: Do you have any accommodation recommendations?
- A: If you're an out of towner in need of a hotel, we contacted you a few weeks back to offer assistance in finding accommodations. Because it's such a small number of visitors, there weren't any block booking opportunities. If you need help, please call one of us ASAP. because preferred rate rooms are already selling out at many places for the wedding weekend.
- Q: Are you registered anywhere?
- A: We are not. We sincerely want you to know that the only gift we truly wish for is that of your attendance, which will more than suffice. For those that find this arrangement unsatisfactory, we will be going to the Four Seasons Maui for our honeymoon. Modest gift cards such as those that might allow you to shout us a pina colada or two will be graciously accepted. You can reach the resort directly at (808) 874-8000 and give our names and arrival date of June 24th, 2013. Alternatively, visit fourseasons.com/giftcard.
- Q: Did you really mean your last answer about gifts?
- A: Does this look like a Miss America pageant? We're really not just trying to score points with you.
- Q: So like, how did you guys meet?
- A: Ms. M saw Mr. M, trying to keep his head above water, struggling for his life in the midst of terrible, terrible storm that was sweeping him away and threatening to utterly consume him. He hasn't missed match.com for even a single day, ever since.
